智齿是口腔中最后萌出的恒牙。智齿的数量、生长位置及角度因人而异，部分人群甚至可能完全不长智齿。
当智齿引起疼痛、反复发炎（感染）、损伤邻牙或存在其他明确的临床问题时，医生会建议考虑拔除。然而，并非所有阻生或未萌出的智齿都需要进行拔除。
牙科医生将结合您的自身症状、智齿状况及相关的影像学检查（如 X 光片），评估是以定期观察、保守治疗还是拔除为主。若建议拔除，医生将在治疗前为您详细讲解拔牙原因、替代方案、相关风险、术后恢复过程及所需费用。
何时建议进行拔智齿（智齿拔除术）
当智齿已经引发或极有可能引发明确的口腔临床问题时，牙科医生可能会建议将其拔除。常见情况包括：反复发炎感染、蛀牙（龉齿）、损伤相邻牙齿、形成囊肿、局部清洁困难或存在其他牙科隐患等。
