TMJ痛の理解
顎関節症（TMD）とは、歯や顎が正しく位置していない状態を指します。この状態は、さまざまな口腔内や全身的な健康問題を引き起こすことがあります。顎関節（TMJ）は、顎の骨と頭蓋骨を繋げるボールとソケット型の関節であり、体の中で最も柔軟で頻繁に使用される関節の一つです。顎関節は、話す、食べる、あくびをする、笑うといった日常的な動作を支えています。

顎関節症（TMJ痛）の治療法
- 咬合スプリント（オクルーザルスプリント）
神経歯科では、歯、周囲の筋肉、顎関節の関係に着目します。これらの要素がうまく連携していないと、関連する痛みが生じます。歯科医院でカスタムメイドのスプリントを作成することで、これらの関節、筋肉、歯の問題を修正することが可能です。このスプリントはマウスガードのような形をしており、歯に装着します。TMDによる症状の多くに対して、痛みの軽減が期待できます。 - ライフスタイルの変更
ストレス管理技術（瞑想やリラクゼーション運動など）を行うことで、顎の筋肉の緊張を軽減することができます。また、硬いものやカリカリしたもの、噛み応えのある食べ物を避けることも効果的です。 - 温冷療法
痛みを感じる部分に温かいまたは冷たい物を当てることで、一時的な痛みの緩和が期待できます。

歯をしっかりとケアしていても、事故が起こることがあります。その際、迅速な対応 が必要です。たとえ軽度の怪我でも、すぐに治療を受けないと感染症のリスクが高ま ることがあります。歯が損傷したり、抜けたりした場合、または歯痛、腫れ、出血、 その他の異常な症状が現れた場合は、すぐに当クリニックにご連絡ください。
予約日まで歯の痛みを抑えるには、ぬるま湯に塩を溶かしたもので口をゆすぎ、市販の 鎮痛剤を服用し、冷湿布で腫れを抑えます。 痛みを悪化させる可能性がある硬い食べ物や噛み応えのある食べ物と食べることは避け ましょう。
