歯髄の損傷または疾患の症状
歯髄が疾患に侵された場合、炎症や感染が発生する可能性があります。歯髄が損傷または疾患に侵された場合に見られる症状には、以下のようなものがあります：
- 自発的な痛み（特に誘発されることなく発生する場合）
- 温かい飲み物や冷たい飲み物・食品に対する過敏症
- 噛んだり咀嚼したりする際の痛み
- 歯の動揺（歯が緩くなる）
- 影響を受けた歯の近くの歯茎の腫れ
- 影響を受けた歯を囲む膿の滲出
- 顔面の腫れ

根管治療とは？
根幹とは歯の一部分のことです。どの歯にも空洞があり、ここに血管や神経組織、その他の細胞があります。これは歯髄としても知られています。
歯は歯冠と歯根から成り立っています。歯肉の上に位置する歯の部分を歯冠と言い、歯肉の下を歯根と言います。歯は歯根で下あごの骨と繋がっているのです。
歯冠と歯根の中にあるのが歯髄です。歯髄は歯に栄養を与え、その周辺組織に水分を供給する役目があります。歯髄にある組織は熱い・冷たい、痛いといった温度を感知できます。根管治療の正式名称は歯内療法です。これは歯の内部で行われる治療という意味でもあります。
にもかかわらず、治療は根管治療として一般に知られています。

根管治療中どうなるのか？
K Family Dentalでの根管治療は大抵3段階あります。根管治療を完全に行うには、1回から3回のセッションが必要になります。根管治療の3つのステップをご紹介します。
1. 根幹を清潔にする： 最初のステップでは、K Family Dentalの歯科医が根幹内のものすべてを除去します。手術中は麻酔をかけます。次に、歯のてっぺんに小さな穴をあけます。その後、小さなファイルで歯の内部にある死んだ歯髄組織を除去します。
2. 根幹をふさぐ：歯の中の空洞部分を清潔にした後は、形も整えます。空洞部分をよく綺麗にしていくのですが、小さなファイルと洗浄法で行われます。その後、歯にゴムのような物質を詰めていきます。そして、管を完全に密閉するために歯科用接着剤を使用します。 K Family Dentalでの根管治療が完了したら、その歯は死んでいます。もうこれ以上歯の痛みを感じることはありません。これは歯の神経組織が取り除かれたためです。結果として、感染も取り除かれたということになります。
3. 歯冠あるいは詰め物の充填: K Family Dentalの根管治療の後、歯は以前より脆くなっています。歯に歯髄が無い場合、骨に付随する靭帯から栄養を受け取っています。これだけで、歯に必要な栄養を与えられます。しかし、経過によって、歯はより脆くなる恐れがあります。そのため、歯冠や詰め物で歯を保護するのです。
噛んだりかじったりする前に、ちゃんと歯冠や詰め物をかぶせる必要があります。K Family Dentalでうまく歯冠や詰め物がはまれば、普段と同じように歯を使い続けることができます。歯冠や詰め物を被せることで、また来院せずとも済むようになる場合がほとんどです。
しかし、歯に管の湾曲や枝分かれ、あるいは大きな感染症が見られる場合は、さらに予約が必要になるかもしれません。
どんな人が根管治療を受けるのか？
歯髄が損傷していたり、病気にかかっていたりすると、保護の機能が働いていないはずです。結果として、その間、組織は死んでいます。深刻な虫歯や詰め物の欠損があると、細菌が歯髄部分に侵入しやすくなります。
治療をしないと、感染は広がります。これが歯を失う原因となり、取り除かなければいけなくなります。根管治療は生来の歯を守ることに繋がるのです。
